Tim Brooke-Taylor death: Comedian and actor dies aged 79 after contracting coronavirus

Comedian and actor  Tim Brooke-Taylor  has died aged 79 after contracting  coronavirus . The news was confirmed by his agent, who said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce Tim’s death early today from Covid-19. “He was an exceptional client and a pleasure to represent. We’re grateful that we have so much of his work to view, read and listen to.” The statement continued: “He had, of course, many fans whom he always treated cheerfully even after long and exhausting rehearsals and recordings.” Brooke-Taylor was best known as a member of comedy group The Goodies alongside Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie. The trio performed sketches as part of their very own TV show that ran from 1970 to 1982. Coronavirus strikes another Lagosian dead

The Lagos State Government on Sunday confirmed the death of a Coronavirus patient in the state. Commissioner for Health, Prof.  Akin Abayomi , who disclosed this on his Twitter handle said the confirmed death arising from Coronavirus in Lagos now stood at five. He said the person died of Coronavirus related complication. Abayomi added that with the 11 new cases Lagos recorded on Saturday, the State now had 177 confirmed cases of Coronavirus. The commissioner said the State had discharged 50 survivors of Coronavirus and that the active cases now stood at 117. “Eleven new cases of #COVID19 infection were confirmed in Lagos on 11th of April, 2020. Fully working ventilators used on medical series  Holby City  have been delivered to the NHS’s specialised  coronavirus  hospital by the BBC. Weeks after news broke that the corporation was  hoping to send medical equipment  to the building that's been set up in the wake of the pandemic, the BBC  shared a tweet  showing workers loading them into vans.

WHO looking into reports of patients testing positive again

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Saturday that it was looking into reports of some COVID-19 patients testing positive again after initially testing negative for the disease while being considered for discharge. South Korean officials on Friday reported 91 patients thought cleared of the new coronavirus had tested positive again. Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, told a briefing that the virus may have been “reactivated” rather than the patients being re-infected. The Geneva-based WHO, asked about the report from Seoul, told Reuters in a brief statement: “We are aware of these reports of individuals who have tested negative for COVID-19 using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing and then after some days testing positive again. “We are closely liaising with our clinical experts and working hard to get more information on those individual cases.
