Muslim groups reject new Army recruitment and NYSC orientation...

A coalition of Muslim groups, has threatened to force its members to boycott this year’s recruitment exercise by the Nigerian Army and NYSC - The coalition argued that the programmes coincided with the Muslims Ramadan fasting period - The national president of the group, urged the acting president to immediately prevail on the Nigerian army and the NYSC to top the camps and shift the dates The Da’Wah Coordination council of Nigeria, a coalition of Muslim groups, has threatened to force its members to boycott this year’s recruitment exercise by the Nigerian Army and the orientation programme of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), The Punch reports favtim.blogspot.com amass that the groups would boycott the exercise should the acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo fail to prevail on the organisations to shift the date of the two exercises.
  
   
According to him, Muslim participants in the two exercises may have to stop fasting or break it or fail to qualify in the camp activities. He, therefore, called on the acting president to immediately prevail on the Nigerian army and the NYSC to stop the camps and shift the dates till after Ramadan. Maidoki said failure to do so, might lead to advising Muslim leadership in Nigeria to boycott the camps and any other national activities of this nature that involves Nigeria in Ramadan. Besides, he also called on the leadership of the National Assembly to halt the camp and call to order the leadership of the Nigerian Army and NYSC.
